Acrylic Pouring, Fluid Art. Vibrant, Abstract, Contemporary

About

auren is an Australian living in Atlanta with her husband. Her artistic focus in Australia was working on set designs and managing theatrical productions. One set design involved painting a large canvas over 5 meters long (15’) and 4 meters high ( 12’). From this experience Lauren began to explore fluid art. She likes to call it Flow Motion Art. As her work has a feeling of movement and dynamics.

Lauren began to paint and explore the different techniques involved in creating her Flow Motion Art. In the past Lauren’s set designs often incorporated colored lights to bring sets to life. Changing from set design with color to painting was a natural shift for Lauren. The more she painted the more she discovered her love for color. The way color ‘plays’ together is part of the technique of flow motion paintings. We all know that red and blue makes purple. But what does purple, orange do together on a canvas? How does black affect colors? How to I get red to stay red when so much white paint is on the canvas?

The Artist

Lauren is an Australian artist who moved to Atlanta in 2017. She has a background in set designs and theatrical productions. One set design included an acrylic pour style painting which measured 15 feet (5m) long by 12 feet (4m) high! From her work in the theater, Lauren developed a love for acrylic pours/fluid art which she likes to call Flow Motion Art. These canvases provide a visually striking impression of movement and activity, captured in a moment of time.

Lauren finds working with color completely compelling, and draws inspiration from natural surroundings in many of her works. Colors plays a significant role in flow motion paintings. We all know that red and blue makes purple. But what does purple and orange do together on a canvas? How does black affect other colors on the canvas? How to get red to stay red when so much white paint is on the canvas?

Lauren participates in shows regularly and welcomes commissions. If you are interested in her work, you can get in touch with her by subscribing to her newsletter, or via email in the Contact page.
